HERE CHANGES EVERYTHING

Through an Inner Awakening in 2001, The Stellar Matrix Songwriter and frontman Ricky Sherlock found himself with the urge to travel the world. Whilst on his adventures across the Earth he discovered more about himself and the magic and beauty of what's 'Out There'. 'I felt reborn' he says thinking back to those awesome times. Reading inspiring magical books on the inner journey of the incarnates of the Earth he found a lot more useful life philosophy inside than he seen in large parts of his outer world.

On the return from his worldly travels he Sought to assist others in transcending the 'old ways' and spent 10 years facilitating Outdoor Education in a community learning and development capacity. 'I gave a solid beautiful 10 years and then something inside told me to start writing songs' he recalls, and so The Stellar Matrix story began.

Their music is lived experience, word weaved into story, song and melody. Observations and musings that aim to touch listeners inside and facilitate environments to transcend the old self and access the inner living library that exists in every living soul that walks the Earth.

The bands highlights to date have been the release of their debut album, which launched at Oran Mor in Glasgow's West end. The process of writing recording and releasing the album was a very rewarding one and has inspired the band in so many ways, learning and developing along the way.

'One of the best things about writing creating music has been watching and observing the bands sound 'morph' and find its identity' claims Ricky, 'We have written and created so many songs and it feels so good to be in this place. Collaboration and the musical connections made along the way have been a massive thing for the band.'

The visual elements that accompany the hypnotic sound and melody, play a massive part in the bands over-arching drive to transcend self and 'Discover the treasures within' Ricky pays homage to the visual 'Tech God' that is Illuminous Black.

'10 yrs in Community Education helped build my awareness and understanding on individual Learning styles and the way people dissect and process information, the bands beautiful visual imagery thanks to Mr Black helps facilitate a wonderous vastness where anything can happen'.

The band is currently working hard spreading the words, sounds and visions of The Stellar Matrix as far and wide as possible, getting their music to the 'Ears that seek' is the agenda of the now, laying the foundations for recording a second album along the way.

3 piece band, 2 mic setup to PA, Acoustic guitar to PA or Mic to acoustic speakers (set up depends on the show requirements), Drummer mic'd up, Electric guitar requires mic to speakers. Occassionaly we perform live audio analysis requiring 1 HDMI in to Display with space and AC power for laptop.
